This Privacy and Cookie Policy explains how SolPrompter collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal data when you use:

https://solprompter.com and its pages.
The SolPrompter web application, including the teleprompter, Workspaces and recording.
The SolPrompter apps for phones, tablets and computers, including the apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.
Our license, checkout, email and feedback services.

In this Policy, “SolPrompter,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the person or entity operating SolPrompter.

1. Data Controller

For personal data processed in connection with SolPrompter, the data controller is:

Where a third-party provider independently determines how it processes information, that provider may act as a separate controller under its own privacy policy.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to personal data processed through the Service.

It does not apply to:

Third-party websites not controlled by SolPrompter.
Services that you access through external links.
Data that Polar, your browser vendor or another provider processes as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

3. Your Content and Where It Is Stored

By default, your scripts, workspaces, folders, recordings, thumbnails, background images, imported files and teleprompter settings are stored on your device: in the web app, in your browser’s storage (local storage, IndexedDB and the Origin Private File System); in the apps, in the app’s storage on your phone, tablet or computer.

Some features send content to our servers or to our service providers in order to work, for example sign-in, cloud sync, backup, syncing between your phones, tablets and computers, or AI features. When you use such a feature, the content it needs is transmitted to and stored on our servers or our providers’ servers and is handled as described in this Policy. Content that you keep only on your device is not available to us, and we cannot recover or back it up.

You can delete content on your device at any time on the Delete My Data page, by clearing this site’s data in your browser, or by deleting it in the app or uninstalling the app. To delete content stored with a cloud feature, see Deleting Your Data.

4. Information We Collect

4.1 Purchase and license information

On the web, purchases are processed by Polar, our payment provider and merchant of record. You must be signed in to your SolPrompter account to buy, and the purchase is linked to that account. Polar collects your name, email address, billing address, country, payment method and, where applicable, tax ID. Polar then sends us the order and subscription information needed to activate your plan (such as the product, status, renewal date and identifiers), not your card data. Our database stores:

Your purchase email address.
Your Polar customer identifier.
A one-way hash of your license key, and an encrypted copy of the key so we can send it to you again.
Your plan, license status and expiry date.
Order, subscription and refund identifiers and their status.
The date of the last license check, the number of checks, and the country derived from the IP address of the last check.
Whether your license email was delivered.
The payment notifications Polar sent us about your purchase, kept for up to 90 days for troubleshooting.

Purchases in the iPhone and iPad app are processed by Apple through the App Store (and in the Android app by Google through Google Play). Apple or Google collects your payment details under its own privacy policy and sends us the information needed to unlock your purchase, such as the product, purchase date, subscription status and transaction identifiers; we receive order and subscription status, not card data.

We never receive your full card number, card security code or bank credentials.

4.2 License checks

If you bought a license key before accounts existed, you can enter the key (or its purchase email) while signed in. It is sent to our license service to check its status and is then linked to your account, so your plan follows your account. Keys saved in your browser are linked automatically the first time you sign in and then removed from the browser.

4.3 Camera, microphone and Voice Scroll

The camera and microphone are used only after you grant permission in your browser and start a feature that needs them. Recordings are saved on your device unless you choose a feature that uploads, syncs or shares them.

In the web app, Voice Scroll uses your browser’s built-in speech recognition. Where your browser supports on-device recognition, SolPrompter requests it and your audio stays on your device. Otherwise your browser sends microphone audio to its vendor’s speech service (for example Google for Google Chrome, Apple for Safari or Microsoft for Microsoft Edge) under that vendor’s privacy policy. SolPrompter does not receive or store your audio or the transcript. The recognized words are used only in your browser to follow your place in the script.

SolPrompter is not designed to identify users through biometric recognition.

4.4 Feedback and support messages

If you use the feedback form, we receive your message, the website address you sent it from and, if you provide it, your email address. If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments.

4.5 Analytics (only with your consent)

If you select “Accept all” in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics (through Firebase) to understand how SolPrompter is used on the web. It collects:

Pages visited and referring page.
Which buttons and controls are used (their names, never your script content).
Account and purchase steps, such as starting sign-in, reaching a plan limit, starting a checkout, or deleting an account, with your plan type (guest, free, pro or max). We never send your email, name, account identifier, license key or order identifiers to analytics.
Browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language.
Approximate location derived from your IP address.
A pseudonymous identifier stored in Google Analytics cookies.

Without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. The SolPrompter apps have their own usage and crash analytics, described in section 4.7.

4.6 Technical logs

When you load a page or use our license or feedback service, our hosting and infrastructure providers process your IP address, browser user agent, the requested URL and the time of the request. We use this to deliver the Service, limit abuse through rate limiting and keep it secure.

4.7 Accounts, sign-in and the apps

One SolPrompter account works on the web and in the apps. You can sign in with your Google account on the web, and with Google or Apple in the apps. When you sign in, we receive from Google or Apple a Firebase account identifier (uid), your email address and, if you allow it, your name and profile picture. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email address, in which case we receive a private relay address from Apple instead. We never receive your Google or Apple password. Sign-in and your SolPrompter account are managed with Firebase Authentication (Google).

We use this information to create and secure your SolPrompter account, keep you signed in, link your purchases and legacy license keys to your account and contact you about your account.

Referral program. If you use the referral program in the iOS app, we process your referral code and a one-way hash of an installation identifier generated by the app on your device (stored in the iOS Keychain). We use it only to grant rewards and prevent the same device or account from claiming a reward more than once.

Usage and crash diagnostics in the iOS app. The iOS app uses Firebase Analytics for usage events (for example which screens and features are used and account or purchase steps) and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports. These diagnostics include device model, operating system version and app version, are not linked to your identity (we do not set a user identifier), and never include your script text, titles, email, license key or referral code. The app always collects these diagnostics as part of operating, securing and improving the Service; there is no in-app setting to turn them off. If you do not want them collected, you can stop using the app, delete your account (section 11) or contact us. The app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, does not ask for permission to track you and does not share data for advertising.

4.8 AI features in the apps

When you use an AI feature in the apps, the text you submit for that feature, such as your script or your instructions, is sent to Google’s Gemini models to generate the result, and the result is returned to the app. Google processes this content under its own terms and privacy policy.

On supported Apple devices, some AI features may instead use the AI built into the operating system (Apple Intelligence). That content is processed by Apple on your device or, where Apple’s system requires it, with Apple’s Private Cloud Compute under Apple’s privacy policy.

AI features are used only when you start them.

4.9 What we do not do

No session recording, session replay or heatmaps.
No advertising, advertising networks or advertising cookies.
No selling of personal data.
No tracking of you across other companies’ websites.

5. Services We Use

These providers process personal data for SolPrompter or alongside it:

Polar (polar.sh). Merchant of record for checkout, payments, taxes, invoices, subscriptions and refunds. Receives your name, email address, billing address, country, payment details, tax ID and IP address. Polar acts as an independent controller for its payment and tax records. Polar privacy policy

Cloudflare (Workers and D1). Runs our license service, license database and feedback service. Processes the license information in section 4.1, feedback messages, IP addresses and request metadata, including the country Cloudflare derives from your IP address. Cloudflare privacy policy

Resend. Sends license emails. Receives your email address and the email content, including your license key. Resend privacy policy

Google Analytics and Firebase (Google). Usage analytics on the web, only with your consent (section 4.5), and usage analytics and Crashlytics crash reports in the iOS app (section 4.7). Google privacy policy

Apple App Store and Google Play. Process purchases and subscriptions in the apps, including payment, taxes and refunds, and tell us which purchases to unlock (section 4.1). Apple privacy policy, Google privacy policy

Firebase Authentication (Google). Manages sign-in and SolPrompter accounts on the web and in the apps (section 4.7). Processes your account identifier, email address, name if provided, IP address and device information. Firebase privacy and security

Gemini (Google). Generates results for AI features in the apps (section 4.8). Receives the text you submit to the feature. Google privacy policy

Apple Intelligence (Apple). AI built into the operating system, used by some AI features on supported Apple devices (section 4.8). Apple privacy policy

Google Sign-In (Google). Used when you sign in with your Google account on the web or in the apps (section 4.7). Google authenticates you and shares your account identifier, email address and name with us. Google privacy policy

Sign in with Apple (Apple). Used when you sign in to the apps with your Apple account (section 4.7). Apple authenticates you and shares your account identifier, your email address or a private relay address and, if you allow it, your name. Apple privacy policy

Your browser’s speech service. Used by Voice Scroll only when on-device recognition is not available (section 4.3). Your browser vendor, such as Google, Apple or Microsoft, processes the audio under its own privacy policy.

Trustpilot. Review widget on the home page and in Workspaces, loaded only with your consent. Receives your IP address, browser information and the page address, and may set its own cookies. Leaving a review is between you and Trustpilot. Trustpilot privacy terms

YouTube (Google). Demo videos on the home and pricing pages, embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The preview image loads from Google’s servers with the page. The player loads when the video scrolls into view or when you click it. Google then receives your IP address and browser information and may store data in your browser. Google privacy policy

Links to Ko-fi, Trustpilot and our social media profiles are plain links: those services receive nothing from SolPrompter until you choose to visit them.

6. How We Use Information

We use personal data to:

Provide and operate the SolPrompter website and application.
Issue, email, check, renew and revoke license keys.
Process purchases, subscriptions and refunds through Polar, the App Store and Google Play.
Provide the AI features you start.
Enable camera, recording and Voice Scroll features you start.
Respond to feedback and support requests.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorized access, including rate limiting.
Diagnose technical errors.
Measure and improve the Service, with your consent where required.
Keep legal and accounting records.
Enforce our Terms and respond to lawful requests.

We will not use scripts or private recordings for unrelated advertising.

We will not use private User Content to train a general-purpose AI model unless we separately disclose that practice and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

7. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal data based on one or more of the following:

Contract. Processing necessary to provide what you request, including creating and securing your account, issuing and checking your license, sending license emails, handling refunds and answering support requests.

Consent. Processing based on your permission, such as:

Camera access.
Microphone access and Voice Scroll.
Google Analytics and Trustpilot cookies on the web.
Other optional processing where consent is required.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully performed before withdrawal.

Legitimate interests. Processing reasonably necessary for:

Service security.
Fraud prevention.
Product improvement.
Technical diagnostics, including usage and crash diagnostics in the iOS app (section 4.7).
Customer support.
Protecting legal rights.
Understanding aggregate Service usage.

We balance these interests against your rights and expectations.

Legal obligation. Processing required for:

Tax and accounting obligations.
Fraud investigations.
Valid legal requests.
Compliance with applicable law.

Protection of vital interests. Processing necessary in rare circumstances to protect a person’s life or physical safety.

8. How We Share Information

We share personal data only as described here.

8.1 Service providers

With the providers listed in section 5, for the purposes described there.

These providers may process data only for contracted purposes, subject to applicable agreements and legal requirements.

8.2 Polar as merchant of record

Polar sells SolPrompter plans to you as the merchant of record. Polar independently processes payment, subscription, tax and refund information under its own privacy policy.

In the apps, Apple and Google sell purchases to you through the App Store and Google Play and independently process payment, subscription, tax and refund information under their own privacy policies.

8.3 Legal and safety disclosures

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

Comply with law or valid legal process.
Respond to lawful government requests.
Enforce our Terms.
Investigate fraud or security incidents.
Protect the rights, safety or property of users, SolPrompter or others.
Establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We may challenge requests that we reasonably believe are invalid, excessive or unlawful.

8.4 Business transactions

If SolPrompter is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

The recipient will be required to handle the information in accordance with applicable law and any commitments that continue to apply.

8.5 With your direction

We may share information when you:

Share a recording or script you exported.
Post a review on Trustpilot.
Otherwise direct or authorize disclosure.

9. Sale and Targeted Advertising

SolPrompter does not display advertising and does not use advertising cookies.

We do not intend to sell personal data for money.

Some privacy laws may define “sale,” “sharing” or “targeted advertising” broadly. If SolPrompter introduces a practice that falls within those definitions, we will provide any notice, consent mechanism or opt-out required by applicable law.

10. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy:

Content on your device stays until you delete it, clear this site’s data or uninstall the app. Content stored with a cloud feature is kept until you delete it or ask us to delete it.
Account information, including links to your purchases and license keys, is kept until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
License records are kept until you delete them on the Delete My Data page or ask us to delete them.
Payment notifications from Polar are deleted after 90 days. A record of the event type, time and outcome stays with your license record.
Delivery logs of license emails are kept by Resend under its retention policy.
Request logs are kept by our hosting and infrastructure providers for a short period.
Records Polar keeps as merchant of record follow Polar’s retention policy.

We may retain anonymized or aggregated information that no longer identifies you.

11. Deleting Your Data

You can delete individual scripts and recordings in Workspaces.

If you have a SolPrompter account, you can delete it in the app (Settings) or on the Account page of the website, or by emailing us. Deleting your account deletes your account information and the data stored with it on our servers. It does not cancel subscriptions bought through Polar or the App Store: cancel those in the Polar customer portal or in your Apple account settings, otherwise they may keep renewing.

To delete everything at once, use the Delete My Data page. It removes all SolPrompter data stored in that browser. If you also enter your license key, it deletes your license record, its order and subscription records and the stored payment notifications from our database. The full license key is required, not your email address, so nobody else can delete your license.

A monthly or yearly subscription must be canceled in the Polar customer portal before the license can be deleted. Otherwise the next renewal would create a new license.

You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing [email protected]. We will verify that you control the purchase email before acting on the request.

Deleting your SolPrompter data does not delete the records Polar keeps as merchant of record. To request deletion of those, contact Polar as described in its privacy policy.

Deletion may not immediately remove information from:

Database backups, kept for up to 30 days.
Records required by law.
Information needed to resolve a dispute or chargeback.
Information another person independently possesses, such as an email you sent them.

When retention is legally required, we will restrict further use to the required purpose.

12. International Data Transfers

SolPrompter may use service providers that process personal data in jurisdictions whose privacy laws differ from those where you live.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, which may include:

Contractual data-protection terms.
Standard contractual clauses.
Provider security commitments.
Transfer risk assessments.
Consent where legally permitted and required.
Other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Our providers, including Polar, Cloudflare, Google, Apple and Resend, may process data in the United States and other countries.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

Request confirmation that we process your personal data.
Access your personal data.
Receive a copy of certain data.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete personal data.
Restrict processing.
Object to certain processing.
Withdraw consent.
Request data portability.
Opt out of certain sale, sharing or targeted advertising.
Limit certain uses of sensitive personal data.
Appeal a denied request where applicable.
Complain to a competent data-protection authority.
Receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

We may decline or limit a request when legally permitted, including where we cannot verify identity, the request is manifestly unfounded or the information must be retained by law.

14. Additional Privacy Rights

This section applies where applicable privacy law provides additional rights.

You may have rights to:

Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected.
Know the sources and purposes of collection.
Know categories of recipients.
Request correction.
Request deletion.
Opt out of sale or sharing.
Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.
Receive non-discriminatory treatment.

SolPrompter does not currently intend to sell personal information for money.

Where legally required, we will recognize applicable opt-out preference signals and provide an appropriate request method.

Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification.

15. Data-Protection Rights

Where applicable data-protection law applies, you may have rights of:

Access.
Correction.
Erasure.
Restriction.
Objection.
Portability.
Withdrawal of consent.
Complaint to a supervisory authority.

Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object based on your particular situation.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

16. Other Applicable Privacy Rights

Where applicable privacy law applies, you may exercise the rights available to you, which may include rights relating to:

Notice.
Consent.
Access.
Correction.
Withdrawal of consent.
Deletion.
Restriction.
Objection.
Complaints and claims.
Protection against unlawful processing.

Certain rights may be limited where processing is required or permitted by law.

17. Children’s Privacy

SolPrompter is not directed to children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without legally required parental permission.

We will investigate and take appropriate deletion or restriction measures.

Users between 13 and the age of legal majority should use SolPrompter with parental or guardian involvement where required.

18. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data.

Measures may include:

Encryption in transit (HTTPS).
License keys stored as one-way hashes, with an encrypted copy only for re-sending the key.
Administrative access restricted and protected by a secret token.
Rate limiting on public endpoints.
Payment details handled only by Polar.
Incident-response procedures.

No internet service or storage system is completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your device, your license key and your exported files.

If we identify a personal-data breach requiring notification, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by applicable law.

SolPrompter uses your browser’s storage to work and, only with your consent, cookies from Google Analytics and Trustpilot.

Essential storage (no consent needed)

Your scripts, workspaces, recordings and background images (IndexedDB and the Origin Private File System).
Teleprompter, theme and interface settings (local storage).
Your sign-in session and a short-lived copy of your plan status (local storage).
Your cookie choice (local storage).

This storage is necessary to provide the features you use and is never sent to us, except your license key when it is checked.

Optional cookies (only with “Accept all”)

Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_<ID>, which hold a pseudonymous identifier for up to 2 years.
Trustpilot: cookies set by the Trustpilot review widget, as described in Trustpilot’s privacy terms.

YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player does not set YouTube cookies before you play a video, but it may store data in your browser once the player loads (see section 5).

SolPrompter does not use advertising cookies.

Managing your choice

Open Cookie Settings in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time. If you switch from “Accept all” to “Essential only”, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted and the page reloads without Google Analytics or Trustpilot. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or delete all SolPrompter storage on the Delete My Data page.

Withdrawing optional cookie consent does not affect processing performed before withdrawal.

20. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Signals

Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not implemented consistently across the internet.

Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid opt-out preference signal, and where SolPrompter is technically able to detect it, we will treat the signal in accordance with applicable requirements.

21. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites.

SolPrompter does not control those sites and is not responsible for their privacy practices.

Review the privacy policy of any third-party service before providing personal data.

22. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect:

Service changes.
New features.
New providers.
Legal requirements.
Security improvements.
Changes in data handling.

We will update the “Last updated” date.

For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the Service, email or another reasonable method.

Where consent is required for a new processing purpose, we will request consent before beginning that processing.
